A common complaint of residential solar customers is that they are unable to use the power from their solar panels during outages due to restrictions on solar inverter design. Urban Electric Power has solved this issue by pairing solar with battery backup. The 20kWh battery system supports the active UEP kitchen including refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, and water cooler. Paired with 3.6kW solar, the system can run off-grid for days with a daily recharge from the sun.
